Coach Jake Hacket named CJSA 2016 Young Coach of the Year

The South Central Premier Soccer Club is pleased to announce that our coach Jake Hacket has been named the 2016 Thomas E. Krusewski Memorial Young Coach of the Year. Jake Hacket is 27 years old and epitomizes what the Young Coach of the Year is about.  He is a passionate student of the game and is dedicated to bringing that passion to others. He brings a youthful exuberance to whatever he does which helps him to connect with young players. Jake consistently strives to improve his coaching knowledge.  He hold a USSF “E” license, CIAC 5 year renewable Coaching Certificate, and NSCAA Youth Levels 1-5 certificates and Goal Keeping diploma. He loves to coach. For a young coach he has extensive experience as a middle school boys coach and freshman boys coach at Hand High School.  He has been an assistant coach at Hand High school and Laurelton Hall. He has been a trainer for Victory Soccer Camps and the Madison, Guilford and Branford Soccer clubs. Jake has been coaching for South Central Premier since 2010. He started as an assistant coach always learning from the head coaches he worked with. He has been a head coach since 2013 and is devoted to his teams. He has been a technical assistant in the SCP Youth Academy and co-director of our Skill Builders program for non-SCP players. His teams have been successful on the field winning or coming in second at  numerous tournaments and leagues. He teaches them a lot about soccer and they have fun learning the lessons. He provides each of his players with a journal for assignments to improve game awareness. He collects the journals and comments personally on them. He leads his teams in “5 Fun Facts” games to know your teammates.  He promotes team bonding with zip line days, team meals, team movie nights and fun game nights. He and his teams wore pink socks to every game in October this year and last to promote Breast Cancer awareness. The team also collected $200 for Breast Cancer Research. Coaching young children is essentially about growth and development of young adults. Jake understands that goal and embraces it.  His players learn the principles of fair play, hard work and sportsmanship along with shooting and fair play. He is a hard working dedicated coach who possesses integrity and character.  He is the type of coach that Tom Krusewski knew represented the future of soccer. Coach Jake will be honored at the CJSA Presidents Awards Dinner Friday January 27 at the Radisson Hotel 100 Berlin Rd. Cromwell, CT. Please visit www.cjsa.org for more information.
